Naracoorte Caves Review

I went to the Naracoorte caves on the 24th June, so it was in winter time and I really enjoyed it.

It was nice and fresh and not too busy, I have been to see other caves before with big groups of people which kind of ruins the fun for me as your focusing on following people and thinking would they please hurry up getting up these stairs.

When I got there I went over to the reception and I was firstly thinking I would just go to the wet caves and the fossil centre as they had a deal on for both of them, but I saw there was a tour of the Alexandra cave that was starting in just 15mins so I thought I would do that too.

I paid $29 for the Alexandra cave and the wet cave and they gave me the fossil centre for free which I thought was a pretty good deal.

I went and grabbed a coffee from the café while I waited which seemed to be really nice, although they didn’t have many staff on and I noticed people were waiting a while for their coffee, although I was looking at my clock and I think they noticed that I was waiting for a tour so mine came out before some people before me which I thought was nice, slightly annoying for the people in front of me but good for me haha.

I went down to the Alexandra cave first which was one that you had to go down with a tour guide. I thought it was really pretty and definitely worth the money to go down and see it. It was also really nice and warm down there so nice to get out of the wind and the rain upstairs.

The staff were really informative about the formations in the cave and were answering lots of questions about the cave itself and also all the formations which was good.

Here’s a couple of pics of the inside of the cave.

The tour lasts approximately 20mins, so it’s a nice short one to do, it does seem to go quite fast though.

After I came out of this one I headed over to the Wet Cave which is a self-guided tour, there wasn’t anyone checking tickets for this one and it was bit away from the information centre so looks like you can just go in, although you are supposed to pay, I guess during summer months it would be busier so they would be checking tickets.

Anyways…..I really liked this cave and I was all alone for most of it which was actually really nice to just wonder around in your own time and it was really beautiful.

After I went through the Wet Cave I went back to the information centre which was also the fossil centre and walked through there which I found a bit strange, I didn’t really like this part so I am happy I got it for free.

All the information was handwritten onto paper that was supposed to make it look old, but the problem was that I couldn’t read any of the handwriting, it was hard to see and just a bit messy.

Also the animals were all mechanical moving and made a lot of sound when they were moving, it was a bit creepy and I think little kids would actually be quite scared in there to be honest.

I did try to go and grab some food after this from the cafe but it was closed, which I was a little annoyed about considering it was only 2:30 and the place didn’t shut until 5pm, but I decided to on one of the many bush walks that are around instead which was really nice.

Overall I really enjoyed my time at the caves, they aren’t the best caves I have ever seen but they are definitely worth a visit, so I would give them 3 bee’s.

What it’s like to travel alone – 9 months in

I haven’t done an update on what it’s like to travel alone for a while, I was going to do one at 6 months but just haven’t got around to it, So now it’s nearly 9 months since I left home.

I have been doing a lot of thinking these past few months about me as a person and who I want to be, which is a good thing but it’s also a bad thing because it’s making me think about all the things that I don’t like about myself which has made me feel a little down. I won’t say I have been depressed or anything but I have felt anxious and worried.

I have also been missing home and everyone there a lot, which makes me also feel a bit down.

I do think in the long run it’s a good thing for me to have all these thoughts and feelings about myself even when they are bad because otherwise how would I ever deal with them? They were there when I was at home but easy to push aside and get distracted with my friends and family. While I don’t have that here it’s basically just me and my own mind who have to get all these things sorted.

I keep feeling annoyed with myself though that I’m missing home and feeling down when I shouldn’t be, but when I stop and think about it really then I realise that actually there is no set way as to what I should think or feel, this is my life now and there will be ups and downs as there are with anything.

I have started to read a book about mindfulness meditation which I think can help me clear my mind when all these thoughts come in to play, so I will see where that goes.

So since the last time I wrote a general update on what it’s like to travel a lot has happened.

  • I got a job working with Australia post in Brisbane for 3 months
  • I had lots of drama with Tom – aka the cuntbag!!
  • I went to New Zealand to see my mom and step dad
  • I moved out of Aussie way and to another hostel in Brisbane
  • I got very drunk one night in Brisbane and got put on a drunk rate to pay at the hostel
  • I wanted to commit murder to the snoring guy who moved into my room
  • Decided to leave instead and go to a shared house
  • I went to Sydney to meet my dad
  • Visited little one in Melbourne a few times
  • I got my ‘farm work’ on a sheep station in NSW
  • Fallen in love with a little boy called Dan
  • I went to stay at another farm in Victoria with 2 very funny little boys
  • Rode a motorbike
  • Done some sheep work
  • Booked my flight home to see everyone for Christmas
  • I have bought myself a campervan for next year
  • Visited South Australia

So a lot has happened really in a short space of time, makes me wonder why I have been feeling down but that’s just what happens with anxiety, lots of thinking, lots of worrying. The thoughts will never stop but it’s what happens after, how I act on those thoughts is what matters.

I think it’s because I like to have a big group of people around me and I haven’t really had that since Aussie way, I absolutely love where I am at the moment but I am missing my big family and my big group of friends a lot now which gets hard sometimes, but when I think about going home to live and work again I know that I definitely don’t want to do that.

So it has been hard the past few months, with wanting to go home but also wanting to stay, but all in all I am still happy that I left, and just trying to accept that every now and then I will get a little bit lonely – (TURN AROUND RIGHT ROUND, EVERY NOW AND THEN I FALL APART, AND I NEED YOU NOW TONIGHT, AND I NEED YOU MORE THAN EVER!! – had to be done I’m afraid) and homesick and feel a bit sad but if I manage to pull myself out of it then all is good! Let’s see what the next stage of my adventure has to offer then…..

Farm Life – Part 4

Wednesday 1st June – Sunday 5th June

So it was back to the farm which felt really strange after being away for a few weeks.

I decided that it was time to go on major health kick as the belly had got out of control and also the booze drinking was a nightmare!

I just really don’t like the person I become when I’m drunk (not that I remember all of it but still the bits that I do remember I don’t like at all!) – So healthy healthy healthy for now anyways haha.

I had also upped my price when looking for vans because it was seeming like I just wasn’t going to get one for the price I wanted to pay which was $1500, so I messaged I guy with one on for $2500.

He got back to me and said that it was still available but it wasn’t starting so the price had been dropped to $1500 – OMG! OMG! OMG!!!

Time to speak to the beautiful men (Rocket and Charlie) in Melbourne and ask them to go and look at it for me, Rocket said that he would go round on Tuesday after work! 🙂

Monday 6th June – Thursday 9th June

Monday was spent again being extra healthy, salads and exercise all the way.

On Tuesday, one of Tarsh’s friends came over to stay for a couple of nights while they scanned and documented the data on the rams ready for the Ram Sale in September.

Each Ram has a number tag clipped onto their ear and they get mustered together and brought up to the shed where each one is then pushed through to a crush, they get their balls measured, and then they get scanned like a sonogram where they look at the muscle and measure thick the muscle is or – EYE MUSCLE DEPTH, and then measure how much fat there is on the top of the muscle.

The ones with higher muscle depth, lower fat and a large scrotal area are the ones that will be worth more at auction.

On the evening of the Tuesday Rocket called and said that the van was purring! She was going! Haha so I naturally got extremely excited and decided then and there that I wanted the van to be mine all mine so I spoke with the guy who was selling it and told him that I wanted it and just wanted to sort a few things out first like the registration and insurance etc. which is actually quite difficult to get your head around here as there are all the different states.

On Wednesday I went up to the shed and took over from Tarsh doing all the data entry on all the rams for a few hours at the end of the day.

Then came back to the house and did some more thinking about what I was going to do about the Van as I wanted it in my possession then and there, I’m so impatient.

Thursday was back to normal, with not much to do so I was looking after Dan and doing more van thinking, Andy said that he was going to Swan Hill the next day and could give me a lift to the train station so I decided that I would do that and get the van on Saturday morning to drive it back up here.

Friday 10th & Saturday 11th

I got into Melbourne around 5pm and went straight to my hostel to check in and then back out to meet little one at central station.

We went to Woolworths and grabbed some food to take back to her place and we made some dinner and listened to some music.

She also had some rabbits at the flat now so I was playing with them, she was going out so she was drinking but I have decided that I don’t want to drink at all anymore at least for a while as I turn into such a fucking dick head when I do drink and I then spend the next few days after feeling really guilty about my life and I don’t want to feel like that! So no drink for a while until I sort my head out I think!

So I went back to the hostel and jumped into bed to get an early night ready to pick my glorious van up the next day, but surpirise surprise there was a very overweight man in the room who was snoring all fucking night!!

Actually he was really strange because firstly he wore a skirt and was wafting it around like he was in some kind of tribal dance, and then he would get into bed and fall to sleep and snore for a while and then wake up, put his coat on and leave the room for like an hour, then back into bed to snore again and repeat! I was really confused by him but luckily I had decided that I was leaving the room at like 6:30am!

I went to reception and complained about the guy and the fact that they had put me in a 6 bed when I paid for a 4 bed and they gave me a free hot breakfast! BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

After breakfast I walked around the Vic markets to get some fruit and veg to take back to the farm and then hopped in an uber over to Brunswick to GET THE VAN BABY!!! WOOOPPPPPPPPPPPPP….!!!!!

I got to the guys house and he went through all the paperwork with me, I didn’t need to sign anything as the registration had already ran out, he then offered to take me over to the van and help me check the oil and coolant etc., and also helped me to get it started as It needed a jump start. He then said he was worried that I might stall it and not able to get it started again so he offered to drive it round the blocks a couple of times which I thought was really nice of him.

He then left me and I was on my own! A 6 hour journey ahead of me and me panicking that I actually had purchased a van and I had never drove one before and had no idea if I would be able to! – Well no time like the present to find out if I can or not hey!

Off I went feeling extra tense and slightly worried but all was ok, the gearstick was a bit dodgy to get it into certain gears but I survived, and I did get a bit emotional at one point as I felt all grown up and happy that I had done it and that I was driving it back all by myself.

I got back to the farm around 3pm feeling stressed as it was such a long journey! But had a relax and all was good.

Tarsh’s friends Jando and Kurt had come to visit and they brought their dog named Toby along with them……wait what????

Erm….nah! But he was a right beauty though, so we did lots of hugging and playing for the rest of the day and Sunday which was nice, and I did lots of cleaning out the van and planning what I needed.

Monday 12th – Thursday 16th

Jando and Kurt left on Monday morning so I had to say an emotional goodbye to Toby number 2, I got back on the exercise although not so much the diet as I was eating lots of chocs and cheese! Ahhh well hey – YOLO and all that crap! I also started my meditation course so let’s see what comes of that, I think it would be good if I could learn to settle my mind as it does go a bit crazy sometimes and I get upset and angry very easily.

I ordered a few things for the van and did lots of planning with it getting all excited but then also realising that it did need a bit of work and got worried about my money situation….hmmm maybe I shouldn’t have bought a van!

I also found out that my second year visa is going to cost $500 too! Waaaa, so I got a bit upset about all of that and also I have been feeling quite homesick for a while, it comes and goes in waves but felt especially homesick on the Wednesday of this week as I knew my b’day was coming up, and it just going to be a strange one.

I just feel pretty far away from everyone and worry that people have forgotten about me lol, I know that’s silly but its true! I can’t help feeling like that! Ahhh the joys of anxiety hey!! So I had a bit of a cry, a cigarette and a wine and then off to bed and woke up the next day feeling better!

Sometimes a good cry is what you need!

Back to feeling happy and enjoying myself! No point moping around is there otherwise I will just end up feeling even more miserable, and I don’t want that now do I!!

Friday 17th – MY BIRTHDAY

I woke up around 8am and walked out to grab Dan as I could hear him crying in bed, why does he never wake up happy, always wakes up screaming haha.

Me and Dan went into the kitchen and I was surprised to see lots of boxes waiting for me from home, so I opened all the pressies from home and I also had a couple of pressies from Tarsh, Andy and Dan which was really nice of them.

After all the present opening me, Tarsh and Dan drove to swan hill where we did some of the shopping for the next few days back at the farm, and also grabbed some lunch with some of her friends.

We then did a bit of normal shopping, I grabbed some stuff for the van, like a new bed and sheets and then I also manged to find a soda machine in target for $20 which I was really happy with, it was the best buy of the day for me haha.

Then we got a Chinese and headed back to the farm where i popped open the bubbles that my mom had sent over for me and I actually had a really nice day. I was a bit worried about feeling homesick but all was good. It didn’t actually feel like my birthday at all but it was a really good day.

Saturday 18th –Wednesday 22nd June

Saturday and Sunday, I literally didn’t do anything other than laze around, eating English Cadbury’s and trying to learn about my new camera and laptop.

Andy was working on the van, which is great that he is helping so much but I feel really bad that he is doing so much for it and I feel like I don’t do enough or deserve him to help me that much.

Monday and Tuesday was rubbish weather so me and Dan watched Disney movies and ate chocolate lol and I spent Tuesday night packing ready to go to South Australia tomorrow.

Farm Life at Wincanton

Me, Tarsh and Dan left Keri-Keri on the 15th May as Her, Andy and Dan are going on holiday and I am going to spend some time at Tarsh’s sisters Di and her kids who are apparently a right handful, what am I going to be walking in to? I’m also going to go and see them on their holiday 2 times. It all is a bit confusing so I will write it out below haha.

So my plan for the next 2 weeks is:

  • 1 Week on Wincanton Farm in Victoria with Di and the sprogletts
  • The weekend in Wye River to see Andy, Tarsh and Dan. Going there with the boys (Jack and Harry) and also Tarsh and Di’s mom and dad (Jeanette and Bruce)
  • Back to the farm at Wincanton for a week with Di and the sprogletts
  • To Melbourne for 2 days to see Andy, Tarsh and Dan at the end of their holiday and then drive back up to Keri-Keri

On the way down me and Tarsh had to stop in the middle of the road because a big mob of sheep were being walked down the road. We were on the stock route which is a massive long road that people can walk sheep or cattle down to move them from one location to another, there are lots of paddocks on the way for either stop overs or that might be where they are going. The stock have the right of way so you have to pull over and let them pass you or pull into the side for a drink somewhere, it was a very strange experience but pretty cool to see.

I arrived on the 15th May around 8pm and met everyone, we had some food and a pretty early night as we were all quite tired.

Monday 16th May

Me and Di went into Hamilton which is a nice town, it actually has quite a lot of shops so that was good. I went to a coffee shop to update my blog because they had free unlimited WiFi so I thought I should use that to my advantage.

I also went to target and bought some fake uggs, I have finally taken the plunge! It’s getting cold here now! Waaaa!!!

We went and had lunch with one of Di’s friends and technically her boss called Fiona who owns a fine foods shop called Fiona fine foods! They do really nice choccys and then also make things like pies and other food ready cooked for an easy dinner! – Check out the facebook page HERE

That evening I drove one of the cars to pick up Harry from school where he was playing football, that was the first time I have drove an automatic car and in the dark around highly populated kangaroo areas! I was a little nervous to say the least, LOL but I managed it! It all about doing things that get me out of my comfort zone so I will give anything a go (within reason) lol.

Tuesday 17th May

I woke up Tuesday morning, met Jonny (Di’s Husband) and then me, Jonny, Jack, Harry and one of their friends Called Jet drove up to a town called Kaniva where the boys were running in a cross country that was quite cute to watch them run. They both did really well too and Jack got through to the next stage which is really good.

We drove back home and then I just chilled on the sofa for a couple of hours before taking Jack and his friend Jet over to Balmoral for their footy practice where I sat in the car and waited for them because I was too nervous to drive 2 times in the dark with the kangaroos! Guess I’m going to have to get used to that aren’t I!

While I was doing that Di drove harry somewhere to pick up his new motorbike, did I mention he is 8 years old? And Jack is 10. They both have new motorbikes which they have been saving up for by working on the farm and also saving birthday and Christmas money so they have done really well.

Wednesday 18th / Thursday 19th May

Di was getting ready for leaving later on Wednesday, she was going on a big walk with a group of people. They were doing around 80km which is crazy! She does it a lot and really enjoys it, usually up mountains and quite long hikes – sounds like my worst nightmare! Haha

So for most of the day she was getting ready to do that and I was busy planning my 3 weeks away from the farm at the beginning of August as I have decided to stay with them until October and then go to Bali for a couple of months before going home for Christmas and then coming back out to Australia in January to complete my second year.

Di left around 3pm and the boys came home, we had dinner and they were pretty good for me, they just rode their motorbikes and collected firewood for me which was nice. They surprised me too because they would just jump in the big car I was so worried about driving and drive it over to get the wood and then back it up right to the front door! How is it possible an 8 year old and a 10 year old can drive better than me? Haha

He drives better than I do and he's only bloody 8 years old!! 😂 #driving #underage #8turning9 #farmlife

A post shared by Sami Bee (@thewanderingbee89) on

Thursday morning I got the kids up for school, made them breakfast and lunch and they went off to school, I thought I would do something nice for Di and clean out her cupboards in her kitchen as she is one busy lady, what with looking after the kids, working in the shop and also having to deliver fire wood, go on hikes etc. things like that don’t really come high up on the list of priorities!

So that was my day and then the boys came home from school and again played on the motorbikes, watched a bit of TV, had dinner and then went to bed looking forward to their holiday to Wye River which I was going on too.

We woke up on Friday a bit later than usual as the boys had a day off school so they could go away to Wye River. We got everything ready, fed the dogs and made sure the house was looking clean etc. and then me and the boys hopped in the car and drove to Colerain where we met Jeannette and Bruce who are Tarsh and Di’s Mom and Dad. We got in the car with them and left the other car in Colerain which we would then pick up on Sunday.

Off we all went to Wye River and if you want to read about that then CLICK HERE

Monday 23rd – Wednesday 25th May

I woke up nice and early on Monday and decided that I was  completely fed up with my fat belly so I have decided to start doing exercise and go on a bit of a diet until it is sorted out haha, so 30 day shred happened every day this week.

Monday Di woke up quite late as she was absolutely knackered from her massive walk. She did 67km in 2 days which I think is crazy! I definitely couldn’t do that so well done indeed.

I just spend the day on the sofa (after my exercise of course) trying to plan these 3 weeks away from the farm again as I wanted to go to Byron bay and do the rest of the west coast but they are already fully booked in hostels and it was getting quite expensive, so then I changed my mind to going to Tasmania for a week as it was a bit easier to get too!

But then I now have a master plan – buy a camper van which I need and want anyways for next year and I have good people around me at the moment that I can trust to help with picking the van and making sure that it is a good deal and that it works etc. as I am a typical girl and know nothing about cars and vans etc. and I don’t exactly have my dad over her to be able to go and check one out for me do I, so that is the new plan!

On Tuesday me and Di drove down to a cute 90 year old couple to deliver some firewood to them which was near Portland by the coast.

And Wednesday Di went to work in the shop and I decided to do some more cleaning and tiding up for her before she got home from work.

She got home and we had dinner, watched some TV and got extremely excited about the camper van haha.

Thursday 26th May

Di is on a roster to go into Harry’s class at school for an hour every now and then to help with Parent Helper, so each week a different parent goes in and helps with their reading and learning and this week happened to be Di’s, she asked me if I wanted to go with her and I of course said yes.

So we arrive and say hello to all the kids and Mr Lewis their teacher and Di introduces me to the class the same way she introduces me to everyone….’this is Sami and she’s from England’. Mr Lewis explained to us what they were learning at the time and it was how to make friends and how to keep friends which meant they needed to learn how to speak to people and get to know one another with questions, he started to demonstrate to the kids how to ask good questions with me and started asking me questions about England.

He then threw his hands in the air and said ‘no, no, no….I have a better idea!!!! I will get all of you to ask her questions’ looking at the kids. He went and sat down and asked who wanted to come up, Harry was of course sticking his hand in the air trying to get his chance to ask me questions which Mr Lewis thankfully did not let him come up as I can only imagine what he would have asked me the cheeky little biscuit!! Haha

So I had a few little sprogletts come up and ask me questions like

‘Do you still chop people’s heads off in England?’

‘Do you have a boyfriend?’

‘Do you know the queen?’

‘Do you like the queen?’

‘Do you want to meet the queen?’

I thought it was very funny and very cute. Then it was my turn to ask them questions and I was a little bit nervous I have to say. But I asked away and then Mr Lewis said ‘see class, how easy that is’ so I felt like I had done an OK job LOL.

Then it was reading time so they all split into groups and me and Di got a group each to go and read with and Harry was in my group.

It was really cute to hear them all read, they got stuck on a few words which I would then help them out with pronouncing but there were a few words that I found difficult myself, uh-oh! Thankfully they are 8 years old so it doesn’t matter too much haha.

After the reading had finished everyone posed for a photo with me pulling silly faces and then they grabbed their fruit sat down and that was our que to leave, but before we went they started talking about foxes and how they shoot them, and getting their gun licence when they are 12, I was pretty surprised by this and was shocked laughing.

We then left and went to Mr Lewis’ house to drop off some firewood in exchange for a dog kennel which harry had organised, while we were there we saw he had some baby lambs who were really cute.

After we did that we went back home and grabbed a trailer of wood and then drove to a town called Penshurst to drop it off, on the way there the school started calling Di saying that Harry had hurt himself, he banged into someone and cut his lip on his teeth, so he was bleeding a lot and she needed to come and get him.

Penshurst is about an hour away so we did the wood and then started driving back towards the school when they called again and said he was ok, so Di dropped me home, I did my exercise while she went and picked him up ready to take him to his hockey training in Hamilton – (I know……its confusing right!!) he did his hockey training and while he was their one of Di’s friends looked at Harrys lip and said he should be going to get stitches! – Uh-oh

So Di dropped me back at the house and I then had to drive over to Balmoral to pick Jack up from his footy training (again I know it’s confusing! Haha) while I was doing that Di took Harry to Hamilton hospital to get stitches, although he never ended up getting any and ended up waiting to be seen for about 4 hours! Sounds like the same as back home in A&E.

They eventually got back just before midnight, had a bit of food and went to bed.

Friday 27th May

Harry had a day off school because of his lip and that they got back so late last night, I made us both breakfast (egg and bacon sandwich) and me and he spent the morning watching Jurassic world and I was updating this bloody thing too! – I’m not really learning my lessons am I, I tell myself every single time I do an update that I should just write every day! Ahhh well.

We drove down to Hamilton to see Di as she was working in the shop that day, had some lunch and a coffee and then me and Harry went back to the house. We checked on the pups and as soon as we get to the farm Harry is of course in the driver’s seat because he can drive here! It’s still so strange getting drove around by an 8 year old haha.

Then the rest of the night we just chilled watching TV which was nice as Gracie (who is 12) had come back from boarding school and I hadn’t got to spend much time with her because she was away. We all had some food and an early night as no rest for this family even on weekends! The boys have yet more sports lol.

Saturday 27th May

Well the morning started off with a bit of Drama, Jonny called about 15minutes before we had to leave saying he had got his UTE stuck in the blue gum trees, and it was now bogged and couldn’t get it out.

Di and harry had to go off to go and find him and try help get him out, Di came back about 10 mins later and said that we should go and that Jonny and Harry will get the car free and join us back there, last thing I saw was harry driving the tractor over the road to get it free lol.

After that we left and drove up to Balmoral where Jack had a match of Aussie Football, it was freezing and I had to actually wear a beanie and a scarf!! Whaaaattttt!!!! We were there for a while but we then left the boys there and went home for a couple of hours before coming back out to pick them up and drive to Hamilton for Harry to have his hockey game, and on the way there we had to do a bit of a detour (about a 40mintue detour) to pick up the a car that Jonny had left in a town called Dunkeld! (Again I know…….I honestly don’t know how this family manages to get anything done at all, they are so flipping busy haha)

After the Hockey match we all went to a café in Hamilton for pizza and wine, although I didn’t drink anything as I was so tired and I have come to the conclusion that unless I am going to go out and binge drink then I probably shouldn’t drink because that’s all I want to do when I have just one drink lol. Plus I’m trying to get rid of the massive food baby I’m rocking at the moment. Then back to the house for a film and an early night.

Sunday 29th May

I had a bit of a lie in which was nice to catch up on sleep and then we all went back to Hamilton for another footy match (Jacks).

I didn’t really watch, I sat in the car and updated this and also did some more searching for camper vans as the one I had been looking at – ‘The Black Bitch’ will probably not happen now as the owner has other people coming to look at it which he has only just told me about so a little annoyed at that! I desperately want to get one and get one while I have people around me to help me.

After we went back to the house, I had a really chilled one and got into bed and had a Gavin and Stacey marathon and an early night ready for my trip to Melbourne in the morning.

Wye River

Friday 20th May

We didn’t get to Wye River until around 5pm, but the journey there was so beautiful driving through the forest and then onto the great ocean road which is another thing I can tick off my bucket list now (CLICK HERE TO LOOK AT MY BUCKET LIST) although I will be having to venture back down to visit the 12 apostles at some point, but I don’t think I want to journey too far along it as its very windy and does make you feel a little sick haha.

As soon as we (Me, The boys and Tarsh & Di’s parents) we were shocked at how steep the driveway was as it was on a bit of a hill, and there were lots of stairs to climb up to the house but once we were up there It was so beautiful. The view was absolutely incredible looking out to the ocean, the people who owned this house were really lucky too as there was a massive bush fire last year that took out a lot of houses in the forest and stopped not too far from this house.

Tarsh took us all out onto the balcony with a pack of mince beef and I was thinking ‘hmmm….what the hell is going on?’ then suddenly a few Kookaburra birds came and landed on the balcony and Tarsh took a little bit of the mince beef and put it down next to one of the birds and they started eating it, one thing led to another and we then started putting the beef on our arms for them to come and land on us, then Tarsh went and upped us all and popped some beef on her head. It was really cool and we all had a lot of fun feeding them.

The rest of the night we spend eating some beautiful food, drinking wine and sitting by the fire, I was happy to see Dan because I had missed him for the few days I had been gone, how am I going to cope when I actually leave?? Waaaa…..

Saturday 21st May

Me and Harry were the first awake on Saturday morning. I had got up and thought I was the only one awake, I made myself a coffee and went and sat on the balcony with the beautiful view and was feeling pretty happy with my life, having lots of deep thoughts about how far I had come etc.

and then Harry bursts through the doors and starts screeching with some bread in his hand.

‘So much for my quiet, life contemplating coffee moment’ haha

Then lots of Cockatoos and Kookaburra’s landed on the balcony, is he some sort of bird whisperer?

He has just fulfilled one of my childhood dreams to become a Disney princess who can sing out and have lots of birds come to you!

It was really nice at first and then got a little bit out of hand when we ended up having about 16 birds on there, my chilled out coffee and suddenly turned into a duck and dive for cover.

After the whole bird fiasco the boys were itching to go kick the footy around because they couldn’t do it on the balcony as we were up on stilts. So the boys, me and Jeannette & Bruce drove down to the beach for a bit of a kick around and to grab some coffees from the café to take back up to Tarsh.

After that we all jumped in the cars and drove back down the great ocean road to Lorne which is a bit of a touristy spot. The boys found a place with trampolines and mini golf so they were really happy with that and yes I had a go too! I also popped Dan on there and gave him a bit of a bounce which he seemed to enjoy.

We then had lunch, Andy turned up and we all headed back to the house, me and Tarsh stopped on the way at a lookout which was really pretty!

When we got back we all had dinner did some moongazing and some wine again and me being me….once I start drinking I don’t really want to stop at just a couple of glasses. So after my third glass of wine got empty I went to the kitchen to look for some more and Jeannette had made me a cup of tea which I was like

Tarsh laughed and said there wasn’t any more wine, and I said that I might head down to the pub.

So off I went and I soon ended up chatting to most of the people in there, including the staff, and I got bought a few drinks by a guy who made one of the beers in there which was nice, I ended up being rather drunk by the end of the night but luckily this time I didn’t really make a fool out of myself.

I did however give my friend Blue a call on the way home, and left her a long voicemail walking up the hill panting and telling her how much I love her, which is fine! At least it wasn’t one of my ridiculous messages of love to a boy I like! – God that’s embarrassing the next day lol.

Sunday 22nd May

Sunday morning we all woke up and just chilled in the house before having to drive back up to Wincanton. I was feeling rather delicate and had to try and sort myself out for the windy journey back up there.

However that did not work and I felt sick for most of the journey back there. Bruce and Jeannette had to stop the car a few times to give me some air, and the boys found this very very funny. Oh the shame!

We got back mid-afternoon and I just lay on the sofa until Di got back from her massive walk, she was really tired too and we all just watched some TV and had an early night

Melbourne – Trying not to die.

Monday 30th May

I woke up around 5:30am and Di drove me to Hamilton to catch the bus at 7am. It was horrible waking up at that time….urgh! And so many kangaroos on the way to the bus.

The bus took around 5 hours to get there and when I arrived in Melbourne I jumped in a cab over to the house which was really nice, and then went out to meet Tarsh, Andy and Dan at the shops, I started feeling hungry so decided to grab some food and to my delight there was a fucking potato shop here!! Omg!! How long have I been waiting for a jacket potato? A LONG BLOODY TIME!!!

Simple pleasures hey.

After the potato I headed back to the house and just chilled until later that night when the beautiful men turned up (Rocket and his even more beautiful brother!) and then after that little one paid us a visit!

We all went out for dinner and got to drinking wine as you do and I ended up being off my fucking face before we even left the restaurant! Brilliant! I probably ended up embarrassing myself quite a lot but never mind. The beautiful men left to mine and little ones disappointment but not too much as we soon got to the next place and continued drinking.

I as always can’t remember too much about the evening but from speaking to little on I have found out a few facts…..We left the restaurant and stumbled to a bar where on entrance I saw a big group of African men and decided that we were to spend the evening with them – probably to their disappointment as let’s face it, I’m rather annoying when I’m drunk!

Apparently we went to a second bar which I do not remember at all but little one said I went straight to the bar and told the bar man to get me a beer of his choosing which I didn’t like so I ordered another one but ended up drinking them both anyway – typical!

I then decided to get upset about being single and not having anyone to love me…..a must go through stage for any drunk single woman i think haha.

According to the dreaded snapchat story which I watched the next day some guys were asking us back to their house, again can’t remember any of that or getting home haha.

and then there was the getting home…… It was around 1km and it took us 45minutes because i was jumping on cars and singing, and i also decided to pull my trousers down and have a wee in the middle of the street with all my goods facing the oncoming traffic, oh the shame!! haha.

and these were the only photos I had from the evening…..

Tuesday 31st May

So the whole day was basically spent in the bathroom hanging over the toilet throwing up or in bed trying not to die,

The old lady walk was in full swing and the whole day was a complete write off tbh!

I honestly do not know why I drink anymore, because the whole next day is spent feeling this way! I obviously can’t hack it anymore which is really annoying, time to stop drinking for a bit I think.

Wednesday 1st June

Me and Dan left the house around 6:50am to go and meet little one for breakfast before she had to go to work and we left to go back to the farm.

It was nice taking Dan the man to a café but he did start to scream towards the end, uh-oh but he did look extra cute all wrapped up.

That was that trip to Melbourne over, unfortunately I lost a whole day which could have been spent van searching but never mind, it’s not the last time I will be in Melbourne that’s for sure!
