Summer Cinders was inspired by that strange little bit at the end of summer where you're stepping into autumn, but you're not quite there yet.
Now, I'm a summer gal and I find it really hard to let go of summer.
So I wanted something that bridged those in-between seasons.
We can already feel it at the minute. The evenings are getting cooler and we're all beginning to reach for our favourite candles.
But there's still warmth in the air.
Those late summer nights. Having barbecues, even though we're not allowed at the moment.
We wanted to capture that sweet nostalgia of a campfire on the beach. Something that's going to signal summer ending, but gently lead us into that autumnal sweetness.
The smell of the moment before autumn
It is just... beautiful.
I can't explain it other than it's actually one of those scents I'm going to dream about.
It's definitely one of my favourite scents we've created this year.
It does remind me of French perfumery, but in a really sexy, Wandering Bee way.
It's softly sweet and smoky. It's warm and a little charred.
But it's not autumnal in the obvious sense. It's not pumpkins and spices or walking through the woods.
It still has some of that summer softness to it because I didn't want a candle that just chucked us straight into autumn.
We wanted to capture the smell of the moment just before autumn.
And September, for me, feels like the perfect month to do this because it really does sit in that in-between space.
A September exclusive
But one thing I will say, this is a scent that's only available in The Wandering Bee Subs Club, unfortunately.
I'd have it all year round, I'm not going to lie.
I think it's got core collection potential, and I'm dying to know what you guys think.
But it was only designed for this September.
And once September's done, so is Summer Cinders.
It's basically the scent of summer burning out slowly.
