Our Story

The Wandering Bee began at a kitchen table in Staffordshire in early 2021, with an idea to create fragrance differently. What followed was a lot of learning, making, experimenting and more than a few IKEA bags filled with parcels carried to the post office before closing time.

From the beginning, we wanted to create fragrance with character. Scents with depth, atmosphere and a point of view. In those early days, that meant candles poured into repurposed beer bottles. Unexpected, a little unconventional, and unmistakably ours. They were where The Wandering Bee began, and they'll always have a place in our story.

Then things grew.

What started around a kitchen table became something shared. A family, a team, a shop of our own, and a growing collection that now reaches far beyond the candles we began with. But through every version of The Wandering Bee, our obsession with fragrance has stayed the same.

Every scent starts with an idea. A feeling, a memory, a place, a story. From there, we build slowly, layering and refining until it feels completely right. Complex, considered and full of character. It's this approach that's created the signature Wandering Bee depth our fragrances have become known for.

Today, The Wandering Bee is an independent fragrance house rooted in scent, story and design.

We've come a long way from that kitchen table, but the instinct behind what we create hasn't changed. To make fragrance that does more than simply smell beautiful. Fragrance that evokes something, stays with you and feels unmistakably The Wandering Bee.

And we're only just getting started.
